Mangawhai Cup

Wayne and I stopped at the Matakana Markets for some scrumptious whitebait fritters and coffee on our way north to Paddy's place a couple of Saturdays back. Paddy's shed is looking great all fitted with electricity, his bedroom and a new kitchen! After a few rounds of the "Mangawhai Cup" on his pond we headed home via the Waiwera Hot Pools for a relaxing soak.

Hi, Carly,

I'm checking out the knee-high rubber boots, camos and rain gear on the others... and am wondering how long it took you to completely give your 'Japanese-inspired' wardrobe a New Zealand overhaul?

Everyone in Vancouver wears Taiga-brand outterwear or Mountain Co-op... except me. A year in, and I've still to buy anything that'll keep me warm and dry in inclement weather... without an umbrella.

Good question! Ages actually. I only just purchased my first gummies (gumboots or rubber boots?) in over 15 years! It's so good to be able to walk straight through mud again! Wayne's trying to get me back into tent camping as well. Hmm not quite yet but just about! xx
